Hi, I’m Jacob!

I am an Australian born and bred country boy that grew up on a small farm on the outskirts of Dubbo NSW. I have a background in a few areas that include timber furniture manufacturing and restoration, stone and Corian benchtop fabrication, custom made high end concrete benchtops, vanity bowls and tables as well as kitchen, bathroom and laundry joinery manufacture and installation.

My true passion is working with wood, in particular older furniture made of solid timber. I feel its important to keep these pieces in good order so that future generations can continue to appreciate them. Quality timber is becoming harder to find and buy from sustainable sources and certainly more expensive. I believe too many people are throwing out high quality furniture in the name of fashion and trends. These pieces, at the very least, are a great source of natural materials that with a bit of skill and imagination can be transformed into a highly unique modern piece of furniture. My mission is to keep the trade of furniture restoration alive and incorporate my own ideas and style to transform out of date pieces, which in turn will keep them out of landfill or becoming firewood.

Hi, my name is Marte!

I’ve been obsessed with architecture and interior design for as long as I can remember. As a young girl I loved changing the set-up of my room (over and over and over), going to art school, building yet another house with my Lego blocks, taking up craft projects after watching an episode of 'Debbie Travis' Painted House' or sneaking in my dad's office and getting behind his drawing table. Being creative and a love for design has always been there.

In 2018 I decided to leave my job at the city council in Mechelen, Belgium and to go on a pursuit of finding true happiness. I fell in love with Jacob and Australia and he inspired me to get in touch with my creative side again. I completed a drawing and interior design course and now specialise in creating floorplans and building 3D models. I assist Jacob with upcycling furniture and support him with everything that’s admin related. Teamwork makes the dream work! :D

We are Restoore.

The idea of starting Restoore happened during the lockdown in 2021. With suddenly having a lot of time on our hands, we started upcycling furniture. This creative and very hands-on adventure was a very welcome distraction, but it also made us realise how much we actually enjoyed doing it. Spending all this time at home, we realised how important it is to turn your home into a little sanctuary. Helping people achieve this, through our services, is what truly drives us.

Opening Restoore is a lifelong dream coming true. It’s our passion, it’s what motivates us to get up in the morning and it is what pushes us every day to learn and develop new skills to better assist our client’s needs. So please, don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions on how we can help to design and create a part of your dream life.

What People Are Saying

WOW!! Could not believe how fast and efficient a service Jacob delivered. Repaired a smashed timber base on my very expensive armchair. Lovely workmanship. He delivered it back to us as well. So happy! Highly recommend!

Jacob rejuvenated a sentimental piece of furniture for me which was in very poor condition. When he returned it to me, it was just how I envisioned it. He took such great care with every detail to restore the piece and kept me informed of the process with photos as he completed the job. I know that it was just as important for Jacob to know he had achieved what I wanted, as it was for me to have the piece restored as I had hoped. The transformation to a beautiful piece of furniture is fantastic. Finding Restoore worked out perfectly for me, and I couldn’t be happier with the end result. I highly recommend Restoore!
